Come listen to some fine jazz music at sunset! Onboard Coastal Queen is Lois Vaughan, a Newport-based piano and keyboard player, specializing in classic jazz and Latin music from the 1920s to contemporary, ranging from Scott Joplin and George Gershwin, to Miles Davis and Dave Brubeck. Valid ID (for bar service) and cloth face covering required to board. Surfaces are sanitized and seating has been limited to allow for social-distance seating. 5–6:30pm. Tickets are $35.
Through November 30—Fall cruising aboard Coastal Queen offers maximum comfort and spectacular views of the lighthouses and historic sights that surround magnificent Newport Harbor and lower Narragansett Bay. Coastal Queen’s main salon, located on the lower deck, is warm and completely weatherproof. Lots of glass with adjacent teak wood-table seating offers spectacular sightseeing opportunities. A grand teak wood center bar offers your favorite beverages. The upper deck is open air, though the extended hard top and the side curtains add warmth. In line with state guidelines, capacity will be limited to half to allow for social-distance seating and surfaces are sanitized on each run. Ticket are $35 and have been limited to allow for social-distance seating onboard. Valid ID (for bar service) and cloth face covering is required to board. Cruises depart from Bowen's Wharf, Newport and Jamestown. Check the website for times. he light show begins at dusk outside The Breakers. The exterior of this great house and its landscape will be awash in light. Also, the Children’s Cottage will be outlined in lights and visitors will be able to peek through the windows at Santa’s Workshop inside. Holiday music will fill the air and refreshments such as hot chocolate and sweets will be available to purchase at the Welcome Center. The Breakers will be open seven days a week except for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. On December 24, last tour admission will be at 3 p.m.
